Fluder Paradyne

Character from Overlord by Kugane Maruyama

The Baharuth Empire's 200-year-old Court Wizard who betrayed six generations of emperors the instant he sensed magic deeper than his own — prostrating before Ainz and offering everything for the chance to study true sorcery.

Fluder represents obsession distilled to its purest form. For over two centuries he pursued the depths of magic — learning three systems (Arcane, Divine, Spiritual) simultaneously, extending his lifespan through imperfect immortality rituals, reaching 6th-tier magic (the highest any human had achieved). He served six emperors, raised Jircniv like a father ('gramps'), and was beloved by the Empire. None of it mattered the instant his innate talent — perceiving magic auras — showed him Ainz's power. He fell to his knees and wept, offering 'everything' for instruction. His betrayal was not malicious but total: he revealed Nazarick's location to Jircniv under false pretenses, setting up the worker invasion. When Jircniv discovered the treachery, the paternal bond evaporated. Fluder felt no remorse. The abyss of magic was all that ever mattered.
