Clementine deserted the Slane Theocracy's Black Scripture and became a freelance assassin who collected adventurer identification plates from her kills as trophies. She was fast — genuinely dangerous even by high-tier standards — and she knew it, which made her careless. She kidnapped Nfirea and fought Momon (Ainz) in one of the series' most memorable early battles. Ainz let her stab him repeatedly to prove physical attacks were meaningless against his undead body, then bear-hugged her to death — slowly, deliberately, letting her feel what it was like to be powerless. It was Ainz's first real statement about what kind of protagonist this series has.
