Character from Overlord by Kugane Maruyama
The Holy Queen of Roble — a kind, intelligent ruler beloved by her people, who was captured by Jaldabaoth and literally used as a club to bludgeon her own paladins to death.
Calca represents what Overlord does to idealists. She was the Holy Kingdom's first female monarch — kind, intelligent, genuinely devoted to her people and racial coexistence (she allowed a merman to join the Nine Colors). She maintained a ten-year reign without making a single mistake her detractors could openly criticize, despite constant sexist opposition from southern nobles. Her 'Holy Trio' with Remedios (strength) and Kelart (cunning) balanced her gentle nature. She even refused to prejudge Ainz Ooal Gown, calling him 'a loving ruler' — one of the only foreign leaders to view him positively without coercion. Yet shortly before death, she grew disenchanted with her own idealism, recognizing its impossibility. None of it saved her. Jaldabaoth captured her, smashed her face into the ground, and used her body as a weapon against her allies until she was brutalized beyond recognition. The top half of her body was missing by the second encounter. Her corpse was cremated. The name 'Calca' means 'ramrod' in Japanese — she was literally used as one.
Young woman with long vibrant golden hair and lovely cyan eyes. Face as beautiful as a freshly-bloomed flower, exuding majesty and dignity. Likened to an angel; many who saw her gentle smile described her as a saint. Earned the epithet 'The Treasure of Roble.'
