Mary Geoise

Location from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

The Holy Land atop the Red Line — seat of the World Government, home of the Celestial Dragons, and location of the Empty Throne that no one is supposed to sit upon. The center of global power and 800 years of secrets.

Mary Geoise is the lie at the center of the world. The twenty kingdoms that formed the World Government 800 years ago swore that no single ruler would sit upon the Empty Throne — that governance would be shared. The Celestial Dragons, descendants of those founding kings, now live as gods on earth: untouchable, cruel, keeping human slaves and shooting anyone who offends them with absolute impunity. The Five Elders govern from here, and above even them sits Imu, the figure on the Empty Throne whose existence is the World Government's greatest secret. Fisher Tiger climbed the Red Line bare-handed to free the slaves here. The Reverie takes place in Mary Geoise, bringing world leaders together — and it was during a Reverie that Sabo and the Revolutionary Army struck, the truth about Imu nearly leaked, and the world order began to crack.

Appearance

A pristine city of white marble and gold perched at the summit of the Red Line, visible only from directly below. Grand halls, immaculate gardens, and palatial estates where the Celestial Dragons live in obscene luxury. Slaves wearing explosive collars attend to every whim. The Pangaea Castle houses the Empty Throne — a massive seat surrounded by the weapons of the twenty founding kingdoms, symbolizing that no single ruler should hold absolute power. Someone sits in it anyway. The city is immaculate, sterile, and horrifying in its beauty — every surface polished with centuries of human suffering.
