Former Marine Headquarters and site of the Paramount War — the greatest battle in the current era, where Whitebeard died standing and Ace died in Luffy's arms.
Marineford was built as a symbol of Marine dominance — positioned at the center of the world's power structure, connected to Enies Lobby and Impel Down through the Gates of Justice. It became the stage for the Paramount War when Whitebeard and his allies attacked to rescue Portgas D. Ace from public execution. The battle brought together every major Marine force — three Admirals, the Shichibukai, tens of thousands of soldiers — against Whitebeard's allied fleet. The war ended with Ace's death, Whitebeard's last stand, and Blackbeard's arrival to steal the Gura Gura no Mi. Shanks stopped the fighting before it consumed everything. Whitebeard's dying declaration — 'The One Piece is real!' — reignited the Age of Pirates and changed the world forever.
A crescent-shaped fortified island dominated by a massive multi-tiered headquarters building. The plaza is vast enough to hold the full might of the Marine forces. Siege walls can be raised from the ground. Execution scaffolds stand at the center, visible from every angle. After the Paramount War, the island was devastated — cracked in half by Whitebeard's tremors, scorched by magma, flooded by tsunamis. The Marines relocated headquarters to a new position in the New World post-timeskip.
