Hachinosu

Location from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

A lawless pirate island in the New World, claimed by Blackbeard as his territory after defeating its previous rulers. Known as 'Fullalead' — a haven for the worst pirates in the world.

Hachinosu is the pirate ideal taken to its most honest conclusion: a place where only power matters and civilization is an afterthought. Previously the territory of the Rocks Pirates decades ago, the island has always attracted the worst of the worst. Blackbeard claimed it after the timeskip, making it his base of operations as he consolidated power across the New World. The island was the site of Koby's capture by Blackbeard and the subsequent SWORD operation to retrieve him. Garp personally led the rescue mission to Hachinosu in one of his final great acts — fighting Blackbeard's forces at tremendous personal cost. The island represents what the world looks like without any governing structure at all: freedom without responsibility, taken to its ugliest extreme.

Appearance

A skull-shaped island (a recurring motif for pirate strongholds) with a chaotic, lawless port town. Buildings are ramshackle, built from salvaged ship parts. Pirate flags of dozens of defeated crews hang as trophies. Taverns overflow with violent, drunken criminals. No law, no order, no rules except strength. The harbor is crowded with stolen vessels. Blackbeard's flag flies from the highest point. The whole island has the energy of a perpetual bar fight that never quite dies down.
