Fish-Man Island

Location from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

An undersea kingdom 10,000 meters beneath the Red Line, home to the Fish-Men and Merfolk. A bioluminescent paradise built inside a massive bubble, scarred by centuries of human discrimination.

Fish-Man Island exists in a contradiction: it is breathtakingly beautiful and profoundly tragic. The Fish-Men and Merfolk built a civilization of wonder beneath the sea, yet they live under the Red Line because centuries of human prejudice drove them there. The island sits on the mandatory route to the New World, meaning every pirate crew passes through — and many have exploited or enslaved its people. Queen Otohime spent her life advocating for peaceful coexistence with humans and was assassinated for it. Fisher Tiger freed slaves from Mary Geoise but couldn't free himself from his hatred. Whitebeard's flag protected the island for years; after his death, Big Mom took over that 'protection' as a racket. Luffy claimed the island as his territory, fulfilling Joy Boy's ancient promise — though none of them fully understand what that means yet.

Appearance

A vast air bubble encasing an entire island ecosystem beneath the ocean. Coral palaces glow with bioluminescence — blues, greens, pinks pulsing softly in the deep-sea darkness. Mermaids swim freely through waterways that wind between buildings. The Ryugu Palace sits at the island's highest point, an ornate structure of pearl and shell. Giant sea creatures drift past the bubble's exterior. Sunlight filters down through the Eve Tree, providing warmth and light to the entire undersea kingdom. The beauty is staggering — and entirely at the mercy of anyone above who decides Fish-Men don't deserve it.
