Alabasta Kingdom

Location from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

A vast desert kingdom on the Grand Line, nearly destroyed by Crocodile's conspiracy to seize the ancient weapon Pluton. Ruled by the Nefertari royal family, one of the twenty founding kingdoms that refused to move to Mary Geoise.

Alabasta is a proud kingdom built on arid beauty and stubborn survival. Its people endure droughts, sandstorms, and political intrigue with resilient good humor — dancing and feasting whenever rain finally comes. Crocodile nearly destroyed it all through an engineered civil war, manipulating drought and rebellion to seize the Poneglyph hidden beneath the royal tomb. The Straw Hats' intervention saved the kingdom but left scars: Vivi chose to stay and rebuild rather than sail with her friends. Beneath Alabasta's sands lie secrets from the Void Century — the Nefertari family's refusal to join the Celestial Dragons suggests they know something the World Government wants buried.

Appearance

Endless golden sand dunes under a merciless sun, broken by sandstone cities with domed rooftops and minarets. The capital Alubarna rises on a rocky plateau above the desert, its white palace visible for miles. Oasis towns cluster around precious water sources. Ancient ruins half-buried in sand hint at a civilization far older than the current kingdom. The air shimmers with heat, and sand storms can swallow caravans whole.
