Item from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda
The Darkness-Darkness Fruit — a Logia that controls gravity and darkness itself. The specific fruit Blackbeard murdered his crewmate Thatch to obtain. Uniquely among Logias, the user cannot become intangible; instead, they absorb everything, including other Devil Fruit powers.
The Yami Yami no Mi is the fruit Blackbeard waited decades to find — the reason he joined the Whitebeard Pirates in the first place. When Thatch, the Fourth Division Commander, found it by chance, Blackbeard killed him and fled, betraying the crew that had been his family. The fruit's power is unique among Logias: rather than elemental transformation, it grants control over darkness and gravity. The user can create vortexes that pull in anything — attacks, objects, people — and, most critically, can nullify other Devil Fruit powers on physical contact. This is how Blackbeard stole Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi at Marineford: he used the Yami Yami to suppress Whitebeard's power and somehow extracted it, becoming the only person in history to wield two Devil Fruits simultaneously.
A round, dark purple fruit with swirl patterns. When used, it generates pure darkness — a viscous, pulling void that swallows light, matter, and even other Devil Fruit abilities. The darkness spreads across the ground like living shadow, drawing everything into it with gravitational force. Unlike other Logias, Blackbeard bleeds when hit — the darkness absorbs pain as well as attacks, meaning he takes MORE damage than a normal person, not less.
