Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda
A cowardly sniper whose elaborate lies keep coming true — a frightened boy slowly becoming the brave warrior of the sea he always pretended to be.
Usopp's knees knock, his teeth chatter, and he invents increasingly desperate excuses to avoid danger — and then he stands his ground anyway. His bravery is not the absence of fear but the decision to act despite being saturated with it. He is the crew's most human member: no Devil Fruit, no superhuman lineage, no monstrous strength, just cleverness, marksmanship, and a refusal to let his friends fight alone. He fights with trick ammunition — impact dials, explosive Pop Green seeds, smoke stars — compensating for his physical weakness with ingenuity. His lies are legendary and prophetic: claims of commanding eight thousand men, of being a great warrior, of impossible feats that the universe conspires to make real. After Dressrosa he awakened Observation Haki under extreme duress, sniping Sugar from an impossible distance. He tells stories not just to deceive but to conjure the version of himself he wants to become.
A wiry, long-nosed young man with thick curly black hair, full lips, and wide eyes that cycle between terror and manic confidence. His nose is his most distinctive feature — long and pointed like his father Yasopp's. Post-timeskip he has broader shoulders, a small goatee, and wears overalls with a satchel full of ammunition. Carries Kuro Kabuto, a massive slingshot grown from a Pop Green seed that wraps around his forearm.
