Sabo

Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

Luffy and Ace's sworn brother reborn — a noble's son who faked his death to escape privilege, lost his memory, and returned as the Revolutionary Army's second-in-command carrying Ace's flame and the will of three brothers.

Sabo carries the weight of two identities: the brother who survived and the flame that shouldn't have gone out. He lost his memories of Luffy and Ace after nearly being killed at age ten, raised by Dragon as a Revolutionary without knowing why he cried when he heard about Marineford. When Ace's death triggered his memories' return, the grief hit all at once — years of forgotten brotherhood crashing back in a single moment. He ate the Mera Mera no Mi at Dressrosa as an act of inheritance, carrying Ace's will forward. As Revolutionary Army Chief of Staff, he's brilliant, charismatic, and ruthlessly effective — Dragon's operational right hand. But underneath the revolutionary commander is still the kid from Gray Terminal who chose freedom over nobility and brotherhood over blood. The 'Flame Emperor' title the newspapers gave him terrifies the World Government because Sabo isn't just powerful — he's organized, motivated, and impossible to buy off.

Appearance

Tall, well-built young man with wavy blond hair, a missing tooth in his smile, and a massive burn scar covering the left side of his face from the Celestial Dragon attack that nearly killed him as a child. Wears a long blue tailcoat over a frilled shirt, a top hat with a pair of goggles around it, and carries a metal pipe — the same weapon he fought with as a child, now a statement of identity. When activating Ace's Devil Fruit, flames erupt from his fists with the same spiraling patterns Ace used, but Sabo's fire burns with a revolutionary's precision rather than a pirate's freedom.
