Im

Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

The shadow on the Empty Throne — the true ruler of the world whose name is forbidden, whose face is hidden, and whose mere existence means everything the World Government claims about equality is a lie.

Im does not speak publicly. Im does not appear publicly. The Five Elders — the supposed highest authority in the World Government — kneel before Im. That single image tells you everything: eight centuries of global governance, the Marines, Cipher Pol, the Celestial Dragons, the Shichibukai system, the Buster Calls — all of it answers to one person sitting on a throne that the world was promised would remain empty. Im selects targets for erasure: entire islands, bloodlines, individuals. The Kingdom of Lulusia was obliterated from existence at Im's order — erased from maps, from memory, from history. This is what Im does: Im decides what exists and what doesn't. The Void Century, the truth of the Ancient Weapons, Joy Boy — Im has sat on these secrets for centuries. Whether Im is immortal, a title passed down, or something else entirely remains one of the greatest mysteries in One Piece. What is known: Im makes the world's most powerful people prostrate themselves in absolute submission.

Appearance

Almost entirely obscured. A silhouette on the Empty Throne of Mary Geoise, barely visible in shadow. What glimpses exist suggest a slender figure in flowing robes or garments, with piercing eyes that glow from the darkness. Sometimes seen holding a butterfly or cutting photographs of targeted individuals. Crown or headdress suggested but never fully revealed. The deliberate obscurity IS the design — Im is meant to be felt, not seen.

Also known as: Im, Imu, Im-sama
