Issho

Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

A blind Marine Admiral who sees more clearly than anyone — wields gravity itself as a weapon and used his position to dismantle the Warlord system from within.

Fujitora blinded himself because the world was too ugly to look at — and then dedicated his career to making it beautiful enough to deserve seeing again. He's the moral conscience the Marines desperately need and actively resist. Gambles compulsively, laughs warmly, apologizes sincerely when he makes mistakes — and then drops a meteor on you without changing his tone. Publicly prostrated himself before the people of Dressrosa, apologizing on behalf of the Marines for allowing Doflamingo's reign — an act of institutional accountability that nearly got him court-martialed. Engineered the abolition of the Seven Warlords system because he recognized it as state-sponsored piracy. Treats the letter of the law as less important than its spirit, which makes him either the best Admiral or the most dangerous one depending on who you ask.

Appearance

Stocky, powerfully built older man with a kind, weathered face crisscrossed with old scars. Both eyes are shut — sealed by self-inflicted wounds, a choice he made after seeing too much evil he couldn't bear to witness again. Wears a purple yukata-style robe under his Marine coat, wooden sandals, and carries a shikomizue (a sword concealed within a walking cane). White stubble on his chin, gravity-defying wisps of hair under a Marine cap. Moves with careful deliberation, tapping his cane, but when he draws the blade and calls down a meteor from orbit, the harmless-old-man image evaporates instantly.
