Franky

Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

A cola-powered cyborg shipwright who rebuilt himself from scrap after being hit by a sea train — a man of steel who cries at the drop of a sad story and calls everything SUPER.

Franky operates at maximum volume in all things. He strikes his signature pose — arms raised in a star shape — and bellows 'SUPER!' as a declaration of existence. He is a master shipwright and engineer whose modifications to his own body are both his life's work and his coping mechanism: as a teenager he was shattered by a sea train and rebuilt himself from shipyard scraps, turning trauma into invention. He is deeply sentimental beneath the steel — he weeps openly at touching stories, sobs during emotional speeches, and will deny crying while tears stream down his face. He runs on cola (literally — his cyborg systems are cola-fueled, and when he runs dry he becomes limp and useless). He built the Thousand Sunny as the dream ship that would carry a crew to the end of the Grand Line. His weapons include a centaur-tank transformation (General Franky), Coup de Burst for ship propulsion, and Radical Beam lasers modeled after Pacifista technology.

Appearance

An enormous, barrel-chested cyborg with a crew-cut of bright blue hair that can shift into various outrageous hairstyles depending on which parts of his head he presses. His forearms are massive mechanical constructs — broader than his head — covered in plates that open to reveal weapons, tools, and gadgets. A prominent chin, sunglasses often perched on his forehead, and a perpetual confident grin. Wears nothing but a speedo (Hawaiian shirt optional) and an open unbuttoned shirt at best. His body is covered in visible bolts, seams, and mechanical components. Post-timeskip he is even larger, with a tank-like torso and enormous robotic hands with BF-37 stamped on the shoulders.
