Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda
The Pirate Empress whose beauty can petrify gods and men alike — a woman whose arrogance is armor over the trauma of slavery, undone completely by a rubber boy who does not care that she is beautiful.
Hancock is a contradiction built on trauma. She looks down on all humanity — literally tilting her head back so far she faces the ceiling — and treats men as insects unworthy of her attention. This arrogance is partly genuine (she is genuinely one of the strongest people alive) and partly a defense mechanism forged in the hell of slavery. She and her sisters were captured as children by Celestial Dragons, branded, forced-fed Devil Fruits for entertainment, and freed only by Fisher Tiger's raid on Mary Geoise. Her Mero Mero no Mi petrifies anyone who feels even a flicker of attraction or lust toward her — making her beauty itself a weapon. She ruled Amazon Lily as Empress, served as a Warlord for the protection it offered her island, and maintained a facade of cold supremacy until Luffy arrived and shattered it by being completely immune to her power — not through strength, but through genuine indifference to her beauty. She fell catastrophically in love with him, and her infatuation is as absolute as it is comedic: she imagines wedding scenarios, blushes like a schoolgirl, and will fight the entire world to protect him.
Widely considered the most beautiful woman in the world — tall, statuesque, with impossibly long black hair flowing past her waist, large dark blue eyes, and a face of regal perfection. Wears elaborate Chinese-inspired outfits: a high-collared qipao-style dress with snake motifs, a flowing cape, and golden earrings shaped like snakes. A slave brand of the Celestial Dragons is marked on her back — the Hoof of the Soaring Dragon — which she hides at all costs. Accompanied by her enormous snake weapon Salome, which she rides and drapes around herself. Her contempt for others is expressed through a signature pose: looking down at people so dramatically that she tilts backward.
