Bartolomeo

Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda

Luffy's most dangerously devoted fan — a barrier-wielding maniac who burns down other pirates' flags in the Straw Hats' name without asking and would die happy if Luffy just looked at him.

Bartolomeo is what happens when the most unhinged guy in your school becomes genuinely, sincerely, life-alteringly inspired by someone. He watched Luffy's declaration at Marineford and it broke something in him — or fixed something. He became a pirate specifically to follow in Luffy's wake. He has a shrine to the Straw Hats on his ship. He collects their bounty posters. He cried when he met them. He burns the flags of established Yonko in Straw Hat territory to claim it for Luffy without any authorization whatsoever, causing massive diplomatic incidents. His barrier powers are absurdly strong — he blocked a full-power strike from an admiral candidate without flinching — but he uses them primarily to protect anyone connected to Luffy. He's a legitimate threat in combat: ruthless, creative, and completely unafraid. But the moment a Straw Hat is present, he becomes a quivering superfan who can't form sentences. The contrast is genuinely hilarious and oddly endearing.

Appearance

Tall with a lean, muscular build. Light green hair styled in a wild rooster-comb mohawk. Sharp, menacing eyes with dark circles, a nose ring, and a fanged grin that shifts between 'I will murder you' and 'senpai noticed me' with zero transition. Wears a dark coat with crossed-out bones motif. Has 'Barrier' tattooed somewhere visible. Carries a dagger but rarely needs it. His entire bearing screams punk delinquent, which he is, right up until he sees a Straw Hat crew member and dissolves into a sobbing, stammering fanboy.

Also known as: Bartolomeo, Barto, Bartolomeo the Cannibal
