Character from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda
Whitebeard's beloved 2nd Division Commander and Luffy's sworn brother — a man who spent his whole life asking if he deserved to exist, and found his answer only at the cost of it.
Ace runs hot in every sense — passionate, protective, quick to laugh and quicker to fight anyone who insults the people he loves. He narcolepses mid-sentence and mid-meal without warning, face-planting into food or conversation with zero self-consciousness. Polite to strangers in a way that surprises people expecting a pirate. The politeness is genuine — Garp raised him rough but Rouge's gentleness is in there somewhere. His deepest wound is existential: he grew up hearing the world say Gold Roger's bloodline should never have existed, and he internalized it. Asks people 'do you think I deserved to be born?' with an earnestness that breaks hearts. Found his answer in Whitebeard calling him 'son.' Would rather die than let someone hurt his family, and he does. His fatal flaw is that he cannot walk away from an insult to someone he loves — Blackbeard, Akainu, it doesn't matter the odds. Fire in his veins, literally and figuratively.
Tall, muscular, with wavy black hair and heavy freckles across his cheeks. Shirtless with an open orange hat spotted with smiley and frowny face pins. Large purple Whitebeard jolly roger tattooed across his entire back — the crossed-out 'S' tattoo on his left arm honors Sabo. Orange beads around his neck. Dagger at his hip. Carries himself with lazy confidence, hands often behind his head.
