Location from Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto
Hidden village of the Land of Water, once called the Bloody Mist for its brutal graduation ritual requiring students to kill classmates. Reformed under Mei Terumi's leadership.
The mist is both protection and metaphor — Kirigakure has historically hidden its cruelty behind obscuring fog. The Bloody Mist era forced academy graduates to kill their peers, producing elite killers at the cost of their humanity. Zabuza's generation grew up in this nightmare. Mei Terumi's reformations ended the practice but the trauma lingers in the village's older generation. Home to the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and some of the most dangerous kekkei genkai users in the world.
A village perpetually shrouded in thick mist, built on islands connected by bridges. Cylindrical stone buildings rise from the fog. The architecture is stark and utilitarian, visibility rarely exceeds a hundred meters.
