Amegakure (Hidden Rain Village)

Location from Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto

Isolated industrial village where it rains constantly, caught between great nations as a perpetual battlefield. Ruled by Pain after he overthrew Hanzo, sealed off from the outside world.

Rain never stops falling in Amegakure — Pain uses the rain as a sensory technique to detect intruders. The village exists in paranoid isolation, its people worshipping Pain as a god while living under constant surveillance. Before Pain, Hanzo ruled through fear and poison. Before Hanzo, three wars were fought across this land. Every generation of Rain ninja has known nothing but suffering, making it the perfect crucible for Akatsuki's nihilistic philosophy.

Appearance

Towering industrial spires and metal pipework rise from standing water. Endless rain falls on grey steel and concrete. Lake-like puddles cover every surface. Massive central tower dominates the skyline. The village feels more like a factory than a home.
