Samehada

Item from Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto

A sentient living sword covered in scales that shaves flesh and devours chakra. Bonds with wielders it favors and rejects those it dislikes. One of the Seven Swords of the Mist.

Samehada is unique among weapons — it has preferences, emotions, and the ability to choose its master. It feeds on chakra, growing larger and more powerful as it absorbs energy from opponents. Kisame was its primary wielder, and the sword was so bonded to him that it fused with his body during combat. After Kisame's death, Samehada chose to bond with Killer Bee, attracted by Gyuki's massive chakra reserves. The sword can also share absorbed chakra with its wielder, functioning as both weapon and battery.

Appearance

A large, scale-covered blade resembling a shark fin or giant fish. Blue-grey scales shift and bristle. A small mouth with sharp teeth is visible near the hilt. The blade moves and makes sounds on its own. Bandaged when dormant.

Also known as: Samehada, Shark Skin
