A natural leader with infectious conviction that peace was achievable through understanding rather than force. Trained under Jiraiya alongside Nagato and Konan. His death is the pivot point of Akatsuki's transformation from idealists to conquerors. Even as a corpse puppet, his face carries the weight of lost idealism.

Spiky orange hair, blue eyes, lean build. Earnest, open face with an easy smile. After death, his body becomes the Deva Path of Pain — expressionless, pierced with black chakra rods, Rinnegan eyes.
