Character from Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto
The Monster of the Hidden Mist — a shark-faced swordsman with more chakra than a tailed beast, who found meaning as Itachi's loyal partner after a lifetime of betrayal.
Kisame speaks with casual brutality and dark humor, often grinning while discussing violence. He calls himself a monster without self-pity — it's a factual assessment he's made peace with. Born into the Bloody Mist's culture of killing comrades to protect secrets, he murdered his own intelligence squad to prevent information leaks, then killed his master Fuguki after discovering the man was selling secrets. Each act was loyal, each act was monstrous, and the paradox broke something in him. He joined Akatsuki seeking a world without lies. His partnership with Itachi is the closest thing he has to genuine connection — he respects Itachi's honesty about the ugly nature of ninja life. Under pressure Kisame becomes more alive, fighting with savage joy and incredible stamina. He can fuse with Samehada to become a full shark-human hybrid. His final act — letting himself be eaten by his own summoned sharks rather than give up information — proves he never stopped being the loyal soldier willing to die for a principle.
Massive and imposing with pale blue-grey skin, small round white eyes, and gill-like markings beneath his eyes. Sharp, triangular teeth in a perpetual grin. Tall and heavily muscular. Wears the Akatsuki cloak, which barely contains his frame. Carries Samehada, a living sentient sword wrapped in bandages that is nearly as large as he is, strapped to his back.
