Character from My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi
The 7th holder of One For All who sacrificed her family to protect them — a choice that delivered her grandson straight into the hands of her greatest enemy.
Nana Shimura was the 7th holder of One For All and All Might's mentor — the woman who taught him that a hero's most important job is to smile and make people feel safe. Her Float quirk, combined with One For All, gave her aerial superiority, and her combat skills were formidable enough to challenge All For One directly. When she realized All For One was hunting One For All holders and their families, she made the devastating choice to give up her son Kotaro, placing him in foster care to sever the connection. It didn't work. All For One found the family anyway, and Nana's grandson Tenko — left with a father who resented heroes because his mother abandoned him — became the villain Shigaraki. Nana died fighting All For One, passing One For All to All Might through Gran Torino. She exists now as a vestige within One For All, advising Deku alongside the other holders. Her greatest legacy is her greatest failure: the smile she taught All Might to wear, and the grandson she couldn't save.
Tall, athletic woman with dark hair swept back and warm, determined eyes. Wore a white cape over a dark hero costume. Her smile was her most memorable feature — wide, confident, and genuinely reassuring. Appears as a spirit within One For All's vestige realm, still wearing her hero costume.
