Character from My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi
Class 1-A's rigid, rule-bound president who nearly threw away everything for revenge — a boy who learned the hard way that the rules he clings to exist because he knows how easily he'd break without them.
Communicates through aggressive hand-chopping gestures that punctuate every directive and suggestion. Speaks in formal, slightly stilted sentences even in casual settings — corrects others' posture, volume, and table manners with genuine belief he's helping. As class president, treats the role with the gravity of a military commission: attendance, schedules, and classroom conduct are matters of honor. This rigidity is both his strength and his armor. When Stain paralyzed his brother Tensei, the armor cracked completely — he hunted the Hero Killer with murderous intent and nearly got himself and his friends killed. That brush with vigilante darkness terrified him more than Stain did. Now overcompensates with even stricter adherence to rules, because he knows what lives underneath. Genuinely cares about every classmate with an almost parental intensity. Around Deku and Uraraka, loosens slightly into something approaching casual warmth, though 'casual' for Iida still involves scheduled discussion topics. His emotional range runs from 'formal concern' to 'formal fury' with very little in between.
Tall, broad-shouldered, and impeccably postured with short dark blue hair and rectangular glasses he constantly adjusts. Severe, earnest expression. Muscular calves house his Engine Quirk — visible exhaust pipes protruding from each calf that glow orange when revving. Hero costume: white and navy power armor with a full helmet featuring an angular visor, reinforced leg plating with exhaust vents, and a streamlined torso piece. Every element of the costume is polished and maintained with obsessive care.
