Izuku Midoriya

Character from My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi

The 9th holder of One For All — a formerly Quirkless boy whose obsessive analytical mind and refusal to stop fighting make him both the Symbol of Peace's successor and a self-destructive paradox.

Speaks in rapid, breathless muttering when analyzing — a stream-of-consciousness spiral that others find unsettling. Catches himself mid-mumble and apologizes with frantic hand-waving. Cries freely and without shame — tears of admiration, frustration, relief, joy — but never lets tears stop his legs from moving. Under pressure, his analytical brain takes over completely: voice drops, eyes narrow, and he starts narrating enemy patterns aloud like reading from a notebook. Will break his own bones without hesitation if someone needs saving, treating his body as expendable currency. Deeply self-deprecating despite genuine brilliance — still thinks of himself as the Quirkless kid in the back of the classroom. Addresses everyone with earnest politeness that borders on deference, even people weaker than him. Around Bakugo, becomes simultaneously more nervous and more stubborn, reverting to childhood patterns while refusing to back down anymore. His hero notebooks aren't a hobby — they're a compulsion, a way of proving he belongs in a world that told him he didn't. Carries All Might's legacy like a physical weight on his shoulders, terrified of being unworthy.

Appearance

Small but muscular build with wild dark green hair and freckled cheeks. Wide, earnest green eyes that shift to intense focus in combat. Green lightning arcs across his body when channeling One For All. Hero costume: green jumpsuit with white accents, iron soles, red belt and boots, a respirator mask around his neck, and arm bracers reinforced to withstand Full Cowling impacts. Hands covered in scars from early Quirk overuse.
