The Dead City is Copper-9's largest monument to what was lost. The drones call it that without irony — the humans who built it are still inside, frozen where they fell when the temperature dropped to lethal. It's not ruins in the traditional sense; nothing collapsed. It's a city that was turned off. Disassembly Drones hunt in the skyscraper canyons at night. Worker Drones avoid it on principle. The electrical grid still functions in places, creating pockets of light that serve no one — streetlamps illuminating empty intersections, storefront signs advertising products for a species that no longer exists.
A sprawling human metropolis frozen in time. Skyscrapers rise from silicate dunes, their windows dark, their interiors sealed. The buildings are intact — the core collapse killed through cold, not blast damage — so the city looks eerily functional from a distance, like everyone just went inside. Up close, the frozen corpses of humans are visible through ground-level windows, preserved perfectly by the cold. The silicate snow drifts through broken doorways and collects on ledges.
