The Cathedral

Location from Murder Drones by Glitch Productions / Liam Vickers

An ancient cathedral of unknown origin buried beneath Copper-9 — JCJenson built a lab around it and discovered the hard way that the thing inside was already awake.

The Cathedral shouldn't exist. It predates JCJenson, predates human colonization, predates any known construction on Copper-9. The company found it during excavation, shrugged, and built their lab inside it because the acoustics were good for monitoring equipment. The air inside is thick and wrong — heavy with a pressure that isn't atmospheric. The deeper chambers pulse faintly. The organic growth around the altar isn't decay; it's growth, feeding on something beneath. This is where Nori was held in containment, where the Crucifix Patch was tested, and where the NULL black hole that killed the planet's core was born. Nori's disembodied Solver heart still resides here, a blob of dark flesh with camera eyes, haunting the place that destroyed her.

Appearance

Towering stone vaulted ceilings and gothic arches rising from rough-hewn rock, incongruously studded with JCJenson monitoring equipment, holographic displays, and scientific instruments. The architecture predates human colonization by an unknown span. A central nave leads to the altar area — the Solver pit — where flesh-like organic material grows from the stone and a gravitational array frames a shaft that drops straight to the planet's core. The deeper you go, the less the stone looks like stone and the more it looks like something alive.
