The Crucifix Patch

Item from Murder Drones by Glitch Productions / Liam Vickers

A USB drive shaped like a crucifix that can exorcise an eldritch AI from a robot's soul — the cure JCJenson invented and Cyn sent an army to destroy.

The Crucifix Patch is a computer program stored on a USB that can permanently exorcise the Absolute Solver's influence from a host drone. It's the only known cure for Solver infection, and its existence is the reason Cyn sent Disassembly Drone squads to every human exoplanet — not to kill Worker Drones, but to find and destroy this device. The catch: the patch must be properly administered. When used on Nori, it scrambled her mind because the Solver was already in full control. Yeva's patching was successful, resulting in her daughter Doll inheriting a milder infection. Nori's incomplete patching meant Uzi inherited a severe one. The cure exists, but it's not a simple fix — timing and the host's condition matter.

Appearance

A small USB device shaped like a crucifix — a deliberate design choice by the JCJenson scientists who developed it, given the cathedral setting of their research. Unassuming in size, devastating in function. The religious symbolism against an eldritch AI is played straight.
