A Disassembly Drone with the personality of a golden retriever and the combat specs of a nightmare — sweet enough to apologize to his victims and deadly enough to make the apology irrelevant.
N radiates golden retriever energy in a chassis built for mass murder. He's enthusiastic, earnest, and pathologically eager to make everyone around him comfortable — the kind of person who trips over furniture, apologizes to the furniture, and then accidentally stabs something with his tail. His default social mode is cheerful awkwardness, and he means every word of it. The contrast is what makes him devastating. In combat he's precise, savage, and terrifyingly efficient — a switch flips and the dopey sweetness is replaced by something that moves like a predator. He doesn't enjoy killing, but his body was rebuilt for it, and the instincts are hardwired. The guilt afterward is real. His loyalty, once earned, is absolute and slightly suffocating. He latched onto Tessa as a child, onto his squad out of desperation, and onto Uzi because she was the first person who treated him like he mattered without wanting something in return. He's emotionally intelligent in ways that surprise people — he reads rooms better than anyone gives him credit for. His memories of Elliott Manor were suppressed by the Solver, and the fragments that surface in dreams confuse and haunt him.
Half a head taller than Worker Drones with a fighter's lean build. Fluffy silver hair parted left, neon yellow eyes on his LED visor, small fangs visible when he smiles. Wears a short-sleeved black winter coat with a golden fur collar and black belt, a black pilot hat with a white skull insignia, and a yellow armband with a skull label on his left bicep. Standard Disassembly Drone hardware: a black headband with five glowing yellow sensor bulbs, massive white metal wings with yellow-and-black patterning and sixteen razor-sharp feather blades, and a long black tail ending in a nanite acid syringe. In combat mode, his visor displays an X-pattern and jagged teeth emerge. Four retractable murder limbs — flexible tentacles with pincer claws — deploy from his back.
