Louisa Elliott's parenting style involved literal chains. She shackled Tessa to her room for questioning orders or showing too much affection toward the household drones. Where James was openly violent toward Worker Drones, Louisa directed her cruelty inward — toward her own daughter. Her death at Cyn's hands during the Elliott Gala is presented without sympathy. The show makes no attempt to humanize her beyond the silhouette.
