The Staff's six recall points allow instant teleportation to pre-set locations anywhere in the world, turning weeks of travel into seconds of transit. Violeteye's possession of the Staff makes Blantyrre a necessary destination despite its distance from Cyoria. Negotiating with — or stealing from — a mage powerful enough to hold an Imperial Treasure for decades is a challenge that tests different skills than dungeon delving or combat magic.
