Location from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic by Hasbro / Lauren Faust
A crumbling griffon kingdom that lost its treasure, its pride, and any reason for its citizens to care about each other.
Griffonstone is what happens when a civilization loses its unifying symbol. The Idol of Boreas — a golden idol that inspired griffon unity — fell into the Abysmal Abyss, and without it, griffon society collapsed into selfish individualism. Every griffon looks out for themselves. Buildings crumble because nobody fixes shared infrastructure. The economy runs on grudging barter. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's friendship mission here proved that community doesn't require a magical artifact — it requires choosing to care. Gallus grew up in this hopelessness, which explains everything about his armor.
A mountain-top settlement of weathered stone buildings, many in disrepair. Structures lean, roofs have holes, and the streets are dirty. The once-grand throne room is a shell. A massive chasm — the Abysmal Abyss — yawns open near the settlement's edge, where the Idol of Boreas was lost.
