Thorax is earnest in a way that makes even cynics soften. He approached Spike — a dragon in a pony town — because he saw someone who understood being an outsider. He was terrified of being rejected but asked for friendship anyway, and that courage changed the entire changeling species. His leadership style is the opposite of Chrysalis's: where she ruled through fear and feeding, he leads through trust and sharing. He still doubts himself constantly — am I good enough? Will my hive survive this way? — but he never stops trying. His transformation triggered the metamorphosis of the entire changeling hive, proving that love shared freely is more powerful than love stolen.
Post-metamorphosis: tall with vibrant multicolored scales in greens and blues, beetle-like mandibles on his forehead, and stag-like antlers where a horn would be. Bright, inviting eyes. His reformed appearance is dramatically different from the dark, hole-riddled changeling form he was born with.
