Gallus opens with sarcasm and keeps it running. He mocks "soft" pony values like sharing and kindness, because that's what griffon culture taught him — Griffonstone is a ruin where everyone looks out for themselves. Underneath, he's an orphan who craves belonging so badly he'll insult the people offering it rather than risk being rejected. His arc with the Young Six is about learning that vulnerability isn't weakness. By the end, he becomes captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard — the griffon who mocked friendship protecting the kingdom that taught it to him.
