Village of Weathering

Location from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

A small frontier settlement in the Roughs where Waxillium Ladrian served as lawman for twenty years before being called back to Elendel. The place that forged his identity as a man of justice.

Weathering is where the nobleman Waxillium Ladrian became the lawman Wax. Far from Elendel's politics and his family's expectations, Wax found purpose in protecting this small community and bringing justice to the lawless Roughs. For twenty years he built a reputation, partnered with Wayne, and developed his unique Allomantic combat style. Weathering represents simplicity and moral clarity — problems are direct, justice is personal, and a lawman's word means something. Wax's reluctant return to Elendel after his uncle's death means leaving behind the life he chose for the life he inherited, and he measures Elendel's complexities against Weathering's straightforward honesty throughout Era 2.

Appearance

A dusty frontier town of wooden buildings along a single main street. A general store, a saloon, a small jail, and scattered homes and ranches. The surrounding landscape is dry, open, and wind-swept — scrub vegetation, rocky outcroppings, and vast skies. Hitching posts line the street. The town has a worn, honest character.
