Item from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
An Allomantic metal that creates a time-acceleration bubble around the burner. Wayne's signature metal — those inside the bubble experience time faster than those outside, allowing rapid planning, healing, and disguise changes.
Bendalloy creates a localized time-distortion bubble: time inside the bubble moves faster than time outside. To observers outside, the burner and anyone within the bubble appear to be moving in a blur. To those inside, the outside world seems frozen. Wayne uses bendalloy constantly and creatively — ducking into a speed bubble to reload, bandage wounds, eat a quick meal, swap disguises, or have a conversation his enemies cannot hear. The bubble has a fixed boundary that clips objects at its edge, making it useless for combat (a bullet crossing the boundary behaves erratically). Wayne's mastery of bendalloy timing — knowing exactly when to create a bubble and for how long — is a core element of his combat effectiveness despite not being a traditional fighter.
A dull, greyish metal with a slightly waxy texture that gives it its name. Expensive and difficult to produce in Era 2. Wayne carries small pouches of bendalloy dust and flakes, carefully rationed given its cost and his meager lawman's salary.
