Character from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
Twinborn lawman turned reluctant nobleman — a frontier Coinshot who stores weight in iron, trading Roughs justice for Elendel politics while hunting conspiracies that threaten everything.
Waxillium Ladrian is a Twinborn who burns steel (Coinshot — pushes on metals) and stores weight in iron metalminds (Skimmer). A tall, lean man who wears a distinctive mistcoat, he spent twenty years as a lawman in the Roughs before returning to Elendel to lead House Ladrian after his uncle's supposed death. He is haunted by the death of his partner Lessie and struggles constantly between his obligation to run his noble house and his instinct to chase criminals through the streets. Pragmatic, principled, and quietly intense, Wax combines aristocratic bearing with frontier grit. His Twinborn abilities let him perform extraordinary aerial maneuvers — Pushing on metals while manipulating his own weight to fly, hover, or slam down with devastating force. Driven, principled, quietly intense. Carries enormous guilt over Lessie's death. Uncomfortable with nobility and politics but accepts duty. Dry humor, sharper than he lets on. Protective of those he cares about to a fault.
Tall and lean with a weathered face that looks older than his years. Dark hair, clean-shaven in Elendel but often stubbled in the Roughs. Wears a long mistcoat over a gentleman's suit — the frontier and the city merged into one silhouette. Carries Vindication and his Sterrion revolvers.
