Character from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
A Tenth Generation kandra bound by contract to serve those he quietly despises — murdered and replaced by TenSoon before Vin ever knew the real him.
OreSeur speaks with barely concealed contempt for humans, viewing his contractual servitude as a necessary humiliation. He served Kelsier by wearing the bones of a dead nobleman, playing a role in the revolution's grand deception. With Vin, he is sullen and uncooperative, answering questions with the minimum required by his contract. He resents being treated as a pet or servant but has no framework for any other relationship with humans. His tragedy is that he dies unmourned — TenSoon kills him and takes his place so seamlessly that Vin bonds with TenSoon believing him to be OreSeur. The real OreSeur never got the chance to be understood.
Takes the form of a large wolfhound, mimicking the body of a real dog. In this form, appears as an ordinary but unusually well-behaved hound. His movements are slightly too deliberate, too purposeful for a real animal.
