An ancient Chinese puzzle box containing all the Miraculous jewels and their kwamis — the most powerful collection of magical artifacts in the world, currently hidden in a teenager's bedroom.

The Miracle Box contains the Miraculous — magical jewels that grant their wielders the powers of abstract concepts: creation, destruction, illusion, protection, time, space, emotion, and more. Each jewel houses a kwami — a tiny god-like creature that has existed since its concept came into being. The box was guarded by the Order of the Guardians for centuries until Master Fu's youthful mistake destroyed the Order and scattered the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous into the world. Fu guarded the remaining box alone for 186 years before passing it to Marinette when Hawk Moth nearly captured it. Marinette is now the Guardian — she selects which allies receive temporary Miraculous for specific battles. This gives her enormous power and responsibility: she decides who gets superpowers, who can be trusted, and when to deploy them. She is fifteen. The box is under her bed.

Appearance

An octagonal Chinese puzzle box, red and black with intricate patterns and compartments that open to reveal Miraculous jewels nested inside. Each compartment holds a specific Miraculous and its corresponding kwami when not in use. The box is ancient, ornate, and small enough to carry — which is both convenient and terrifying given what it contains.

What They Know

• Contains all known Miraculous jewels except the Butterfly and Peacock, which were lost — each jewel houses a kwami
• Guarded by the Order of the Guardians for centuries until the Order's destruction — Master Fu was the sole surviving Guardian

• The box is a puzzle — it must be opened with specific movements, providing a layer of security against theft
• If all Miraculous from the box were activated simultaneously, the combined power would be catastrophic — this is why the Guardian role exists
