Location from Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams
The Stone of Farewell — where the Sithi and Norns parted ways, now the last refuge of the alliance against the Storm King, thrumming with ancient power no one fully understands.
Sesuad'ra is where the Gardenborn broke. After generations of growing apart, the Sithi and Norns met here for the last time and parted — the Norns retreating north to Nakkiga, the Sithi scattering into the forests. The grief of that parting soaked into the stone and never left. Buried beneath the tor is a powerful Witness — the Earth Drake's Eye — which makes Sesuad'ra a place of amplified magical power. Other Witnesses work more strongly here; dreams are more vivid; the Dream Road is closer to the surface. Josua's alliance camps here because it's defensible, but the real reason it works as a headquarters is the power bleeding up through the rock. The Battle of the Lake of Glass was fought on the frozen lake below — one of the war's turning points, proof that the alliance could fight and win.
A great stone tor rising five hundred cubits above the surrounding river, standing like a fist thrust up from the earth. The summit is flat enough for a camp, surrounded by ancient Sithi stonework weathered smooth by millennia. Below, the ruins of Enki-e-Shao'saye mark the edges of what was once a great Sithi gathering place. The stone itself feels warm to the touch even in winter.
