Eden Prime
Location from Mass Effect by BioWare
Humanity's showcase colony — beautiful, Earth-like, and the first place the Reapers struck in ME1, because it was also where a Prothean Beacon was buried.
Also known as: Eden Prime
What They Know
- Humanity's largest and most successful colony; established close to Inner Council Space borders as a deliberate showcase of human capability
- Population approximately 3.7 million in 2183, mostly in agriculture; the planet is a genuine Earth-equivalent garden world
- A Prothean Beacon was buried here 50,000 years ago; its discovery triggered the events of ME1
- The geth attack at the opening of ME1 devastated the colony; only the farms were rebuilt in the two years between ME1 and ME2
- A Prothean stasis bunker beneath the surface was meant to hold millions of survivors; it held hundreds by the time the Reapers reached it, and only one survived to 2186
