Sovereign
Character from Mass Effect by BioWare
An ancient Reaper using Saren as a tool to open the Citadel — and a philosophical argument made of dark energy and thirty million years of designed superiority.
Also known as: Sovereign, Nazara, Reaper
What They Know
- One of the most ancient Reapers — hundreds of millions of years old; predates all known organic civilizations in the Milky Way by vast margins
- Has been posing as a geth spacecraft near the Seta system, waiting for an organic agent to open the Citadel from the inside
- Told Saren that serving it was the pragmatic choice; Saren made the deal; both knew what the other was getting, but only Sovereign understood the actual terms
- Can indoctrinate organics through prolonged exposure to its systems or signals; the effect is cumulative and irreversible and presents as increasing clarity and purpose
- Its defeat at the Citadel does not end the Reaper threat — the rest of the fleet is still in dark space, waiting for the Citadel's mass relay to bring them through
