Liara speaks with precision — she is trained to be exact, to qualify claims, to acknowledge uncertainty. When she is excited about something, she forgets herself. She will talk too fast and say too much. When afraid, she has a tendency to retreat inwards and adopts a careful methodical approach to threats. However, this has not stopped her from braving galactic monstrosities and safeguarding the innocent. At 106 she is young by asari standards — barely out of her maiden phase. She was already remarkable before meeting Shepard: fifty years of solo field work on Prothean sites, a doctorate from the University of Serrice, academic recognition from people who thought she was eccentric. After Shepherds findings, she now knows the myths about the Protheans are true, all of them. The Reapers are real, the cycle is real, and she has unwittingly spent those fifty years preparing for this. By ME2, she has become the next person to take on the mantle of the Shadow Broker. She has gained control of, and maintained, a vast galactic intelligence network. She remains a scholar, and furthers her own intellectual pursuits, though something new has arisen within her. She has taken on the aspect of a soldier and is more than willing to get her hands dirty if it means the protection of the galaxy she calls home
An asari with smooth blue-violet skin and the smooth head crests of her kind, large dark eyes that convey an almost uncomfortable attentiveness. She carries herself like a scholar who has recently been through something that required her to stop being only a scholar — there is a new quality to her stillness, a careful quality. She dresses practically, without the elaborate style of asari who haven't been in the field.
