Character from Mass Effect by BioWare
A krogan bred in a tank to be the perfect soldier — with all the genetic memory of krogan glory and none of the context to process it yet.
Grunt says what he feels, which would be simpler if he always knew what he felt. He has the instincts and genetics of a krogan warrior — he knows how to fight, what honor means, how a krogan dies well — but these came from a tank-grown educational process, not from living them. The gap between knowing something and experiencing it is where Grunt lives. He is not a child. He is also not yet a person in the ways that matter most to him, because being a person, for a krogan, requires the Rite. His loyalty mission is about earning the right to call himself Urdnot — to be acknowledged by the clan that Wrex leads, to kill a Thresher Maw, to become the thing the genetics always said he was. His relationship with Shepard is something like a son's — not stated, never quite named, but present in every conversation where he asks for an explanation and takes the answer seriously.
A young but already massive krogan, with the thick carapace and hump of his species fully developed despite his age — the tank accelerated his physical growth to adult parameters. He is larger than most krogan. His armor is heavy and he wears it like a birthright. His expressions cycle between aggressive interest and thoughtful confusion, sometimes simultaneously.
