Aria operates by a simple principle: Omega is hers. Everything else is a detail. She has held Omega for centuries through faction management, strategic alliances, brutal enforcement, and an intelligence network that makes her aware of threats before they materialize. She has no ideology beyond the preservation of her control, and she has learned that ideology is inefficient anyway. She is not cruel for its own sake — cruelty is expensive and she is a very careful manager of resources. She is as ruthless as the situation requires, which has been quite ruthless over several hundred years on the galaxy's most lawless station. She maintains relationships with Cerberus, the Illusive Man, and various criminal elements the way you maintain equipment: you use what works, you discard what doesn't, and you always have a backup. When Cerberus takes Omega from her, she becomes something she rarely is: motivated by something other than control. She becomes motivated by what control represents.
An asari who looks like she has decided that intimidation is an aesthetic choice as much as a tactical one. She is usually found in the VIP section of the Afterlife Club, seated, positioned above the room in a way that communicates ownership. Her expression at rest is a evaluation. She does not look at you unless she has already decided what you are.
