The Savage Land

Location from Marvel Comics by Marvel Entertainment

A hidden prehistoric jungle in Antarctica, shielded from the ice by alien technology. Dinosaurs roam alongside lost human civilizations in a tropical valley that should not exist.

The Savage Land hits visitors like a hallucination — you fly over Antarctic ice for hours, descend through a gap in the mountains, and suddenly you are standing in a jungle where a stegosaurus is drinking from a river while a tribe of Fall People watches from the treeline. The Nuwali, an alien race, created this preserve millions of years ago, seeding it with creatures and ecosystems from across Earth's evolutionary history. The air is thick, humid, and heavy with the smell of rotting vegetation and animal musk. Sauron — the pteranodon-human hybrid — hunts from the volcanic peaks. Ka-Zar and Zabu patrol the jungle as its self-appointed protectors. Multiple factions coexist uneasily: the Fall People, the Sun People, Savage Land mutates engineered by Magneto, and remnants of alien technology buried in temple complexes. The land itself seems to resist mapping — expeditions that enter rarely find the same geography twice.

Appearance

A vast tropical valley carved into the Antarctic interior, ringed by impassable ice cliffs and volcanic mountain ranges. Dense jungle canopy stretches to every horizon, broken by rivers, volcanic vents, and the ruins of civilizations both human and alien. Pteranodons circle above the treeline. Tyrannosaurus footprints crater the mud beside tributaries. The vegetation is Mesozoic — towering ferns, cycads, and flowering plants that went extinct everywhere else sixty-five million years ago.

Also known as: the Savage Land, the prehistoric valley, Ka-Zar's domain
