Item from Marvel Comics by Marvel Entertainment
The single weapon that Galactus fears. A small handheld device capable of destroying any target in existence — including the wielder, if their concentration falters.
The Ultimate Nullifier operates on a principle so fundamental that even Reed Richards struggles to articulate it fully: the device removes things from existence. Not destroys — removes. The target does not explode or disintegrate; it simply ceases to have ever been. The catch is that the wielder must hold the target perfectly in their mind during activation — a complete conceptual understanding of what they are nullifying. If their concentration wavers, if they fail to fully comprehend the target, the device nullifies them instead. Johnny Storm retrieved it from Galactus's worldship Taa II during the Devourer's first assault on Earth, and the mere sight of it in human hands made Galactus retreat — the only time in recorded history that the World-Eater backed down from a meal. The Nullifier has been used sparingly since, because anyone intelligent enough to understand what it does is intelligent enough to be terrified of using it.
Deceptively small — a metallic device roughly the size of a flashlight, with a cylindrical body and a flared emitter cone. Its surface is featureless smooth metal with no obvious controls, triggers, or power indicators. It looks like it could be a component from any advanced technology. Nothing about its appearance suggests it is the most destructive weapon in the known universe.
