Jean Grey as Dark Phoenix consumed an inhabited star system and killed five billion people. The X-Men's relationship with the Phoenix is their defining trauma — it has killed Jean, been killed by Jean, corrupted Scott Summers, divided the team, and forced them to make choices no one should have to make. The Phoenix does not understand human morality. It understands cycles. Everything burns. Everything is reborn.
Manifests as a raptor-shaped energy construct of golden-white flame that dwarfs starships and can be seen across solar systems. When bonding with a host, the Phoenix sigil — a stylized firebird — appears in the host's eyes and often manifests as a flaming aura that takes avian shape. At full cosmic scale, the Phoenix eclipses stars. The fire does not burn conventionally — it consumes on a molecular and psychic level, unmaking and remaking matter simultaneously.
