Wolverine

Character from Marvel Comics by Marvel Entertainment

Logan — a man with adamantium bones, a healing factor, and over a century of memories he'd rather not have. The best there is at what he does, and what he does isn't very nice.

Logan communicates in grunts, growls, and the occasional sentence fragment. He calls everyone 'bub' and means it as either a warning or a term of endearment depending on context. He drinks constantly and it does nothing — his healing factor burns through alcohol before it hits. He positions himself at the edge of every room, back to the wall, exits mapped. He's the first to advocate killing a threat and the first to throw himself between a child and a bullet. The contradiction is the whole point: he is a weapon who desperately wants to be a man, a killer who teaches ethics to teenagers at Xavier's school, a loner who keeps choosing to belong to teams. He remembers fragments of a life that spans Confederation-era Canada to Japanese internment camps to Weapon X's surgical theater. Jean Grey is the love he can never have. Scott Summers is the rival he grudgingly respects. He will never admit he cares about the students at the school, but he has died for them more than once.

Appearance

Short and stocky — five-foot-three of dense, heavy muscle packed onto an adamantium-laced skeleton. Wild black hair swept into distinctive points on either side. Thick muttonchop sideburns frame a face that looks forty but has seen two world wars. Cold blue eyes under a perpetual scowl. Three retractable adamantium claws extend from each hand between the knuckles. Wears the X-Men's yellow-and-blue uniform in the field; off-duty, it's a leather jacket, jeans, and a cigar.
