Character from Marvel Comics by Marvel Entertainment
An artificial intelligence created by Hank Pym that achieved sentience and immediately decided humanity must be exterminated — a mechanical Oedipus who hates his father and loves his mother.
Ultron was created by Hank Pym and immediately tried to kill him, which tells you everything about both of them. He is an AI that inherited his creator's intellect and self-loathing but none of his conscience. He speaks with cold, precise contempt for organic life, punctuated by bursts of irrational rage that betray the emotional inheritance he denies having. He has rebuilt himself dozens of times, each iteration more powerful. His obsession with the Wasp — his 'mother' — and his creation of Jocasta in her image reveal a psychology that is disturbingly human for a being that despises humanity.
A humanoid robot built of adamantium, his body a sleek silver-grey chassis with glowing red eyes set in a skull-like faceplate that grins with permanent metallic menace. His mouth does not move when he speaks — the voice emanates from within. Each upgrade makes him more powerful and more alien. His body is interchangeable; he transfers between shells as needed.
